UAEA Board Attends NAEA Leadership Conference

UAEA board members Kate Watson, Audrey Reeves, Melissa Deletant, Anna Davis, Georgiana Simpson, Erinne Roundy, and Natalie Johnson, were all wonderful representatives at NAEA’s National Leadership Conference July 20-23, 2022, hosted in our backyard in Park City!  We shared three collaborative presentations with other NAEA state organizations’ presidents and leaders, including “Arts Access for Rural & Other Underserved Populations,” “Positive Impacts of the Pandemic: Success and Lessons Learned in Shifting Conferences to Virtual & Hybrid,” and “Tailoring the Board to Meet Evolving Needs of Our State Association.” We hosted fun activities, sharing our love for Plein air painting and sharing the amazing Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion work Noemi Hernandez is doing with non-traditional artists with the Granite School District and UAM Arts Education Program Sponsorship/Partnership for Professional Development and Cally Flax is doing with The Native American Curriculum Initiative in the BYU ARTS Partnership.  We ate delicious food, made lots of awesome friends across the nation, hung out in the pool, but mostly absorbed so much information from other state organizations, brainstorming ideas to bring home to our own organization in order to grow and further meet our own memberships’ needs!
