What We Do

The Utah Art Educators Association represents all art educators in the state of Utah, from elementary to higher education to museum education. We are a group of passionate teachers who want to bring professional learning opportunities and resources to all art teachers.

UAEA MISSION STATEMENT

The Utah Art Education Association advocates for and increases the quality of visual arts education through professional development, collaboration, and leadership opportunities.

UAEA VISION STATEMENT

We believe that humankind is inherently creative, possessing aesthetic sensitivity and awareness and the desire to make our world more beautiful and meaningful.  We believe in the cultivation of the whole child and adults by providing them with significant experiences in all art forms that may otherwise be missing in formal educational programming.

What We Do:

  • Provide professional learning conferences: a one-day conference in the fall and a three-day conference in the spring.

  • Provide additional professional learning workshops to help support art teachers.

  • Provide networking opportunities to connect art teachers across the state. We connect art teachers in the same content areas and same geographic regions.

  • Provide leadership opportunities as a member of the UAEA Board.

  • Provide student scholarships for high school seniors pursuing art in college.

  • Provide information and resources as a hub for art education pedagogy on our website.

  • Advocate for art educators on state committees and within local communities.

  • Promote social and emotional learning support through the “Arts for Life” committee.

  • Recognize outstanding art educators with our UAEA Awards.
